Tom Leykis Show Reborn as No-Compromise Internet Stream
|
After a three year lockdown, “shock jock” Tom Leykis is back, running his show sans the bureaucrats. Now the master of his own destiny, he gleefully bellowed “Fuck radio!” during his first online broadcast. Rather than diminishing his fame, the blackout has done him good. Over the years Tom has been an indispensible source of mancentic relationship advice. With no one to fill the void, die-hard listeners were eager to chew up any past programming they could get their hands on. Now his “sons” can finally move on from archives on YouTube and get fresh “101” advice. His previous employer, CBS Radio, changed their format in 2009. As a result, the suits decided to take him off the air. The good: he was paid during the hiatus, allowing him to do some soul searching and regroup. The bad: he wasn’t permitted to produce any audio content until his contract expired. Listening to the tone of Tom’s voice on the first show, I’ve never heard the man this happy. It’s like he’s a new person. Still as freewheeling as ever, but this time around rid of some of the inner demons he was dragging around years prior. A press release published yesterday had this to say about his antics;
To me, his greatest contribution has been opening men’s eyes to the Machiavellian tactics often used by women. Some of his dopier callers have served as rookie mistake poster boys for listeners. They’ve had sex without condoms, been trapped in abusive relationships, been stolen from, cheated on and worse. After being pissed on repeatedly, they’ve come back for more.
Suits never know what to do with guys like Tom Leykis. He’s a maverick, just like his core listeners. They’ll never “get” that captivating content is never safe. The stronger you connect with one group, the more you’ll irritate another one. Going independent was a good move for “the professor.” After 20 years in radio, the captain has his own ship. |

Tom has caught the proverbial essence of what most guys never had, especially in a world of single-motherhood and lack of role models…or like what, OJ? Somebody to tell them how the world *really* works. And how to thrive in it.
Better yet, the same demographic…that needs the most help…SPENDS the most. Young males, and a few old farts like me…love this guy and his advertisers.
He’s not a trend…he’s making the trend. This Is The Future. And he put it all on the line…for us. I think that deserves all the support, admiration and loyalty a group of listeners can provide, and I’m glad to be one of them.
Tom tells it like it is (and how he perceives it to be) and pulls no punches. He doesn’t claim to be anything he isn’t, (he is not a CPA, a lawyer, nor a college graduate), but he DOES own everything that he IS and stands behind what he says! No apologies! As a woman, there are generalizations made, but we women make similar generalizations about men, so all is fair in love, war and The Tom Leykis Show! – 15 year fan/listener
Tom Leykis hates women. He makes all women out to be scheming bitches who just want men’s money, and he makes men out to be little boys who cannot sustain relationships and only want sex. He is also very cruel – one of his broadcasts gave men advice on how to use the childhood sexual abuse histories of women to get sex, because these women are more vulnerable. He is not someone to be emulated or admired – he represents a new low for radio.
Not all women are perfect – some are manipulative, some are shallow. Most are not. Real men do not take out their personal pain from past relationships to get some kind of twisted revenge on the entire female race. This is infantile and immature, and men who do this will never find meaningful or fulfilling relationships with women. Real men learn and grow from their mistakes. Real men are honorable, honest, and above all, kind. Real men are not threatened by women and are not afraid to see women as their peers, partners, and friends. A real man is willing to take a risk and fal in love.
It may be much easier for hurting and angry men to listen to the obnoxious and spiteful Leykis, who I strongly suspect has a huge chip on his shoulder from some past wrong done to him by some woman. This is a classic case of the blind leading the blind. Introspection is much harder to do, but I sincerely hope that more men will have the strength to do it. If not, I fear these men will forever be stuck in a cycle of abuse and hatred for women, and will never achieve what they truly crave – emotional fulfillment as well as sexual.
